In recent months, the Health Centers belonging to the Xàtiva-Ontinyent Health Department have been at work to improve communication between healthcare workers and the public through the creation of a communication commission made up of members with the different profiles that converge in the primary healthcare setting. This commission has been supported by professors and researchers from the Audiovisual Communication Department of Campus Gandia of the Universitat Politècnica de Valencia (UPV), led by Raúl Terol.
Interview with Víctor Climent, doctor from the Xàtiva-Ontinyent Health Department.
A public communication campaign has been launched with the slogan “Get to Know your Primary Care”, with the aim of bringing the Health Centers closer to the reach of the people of Ontinyent. A series of organizational communication videos presents the values of primary care and the main functions carried out by each of the professional roles at the Health Centers.
The first video is titled “Do You Know your Primary Health Care?” and it was produced by the student Luis Ferrer alongside with the Dr. Sara Vicente, who is doing her doctoral thesis at the UPV that analyzes the impact of communication between Health Centers and the citizens of Ontinyent on the resources in Primary and Community Healthcare Care.
In addition, two students from the Campus Gandia (UPV), Ignacio Máñez and Pau Chanzá, have made videos and infographics on different roles and professional categories in Health Centers as part of their Final Degree Project.
The posters, in which each and every one of the professional categories that come together in primary care health centers are made known, have been designed by the student of the Degree in Audiovisual Communication Paula Robles Cepero, who is also a neighbor of the town of Ontinyent. Paula is carrying out her Final Degree Project focused on the design of the Communication Plan of the Health Centers of the capital of Vall d’Albaida, which have opened profiles on different social networks.
You can find profiles of the health centers onFacebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram, as well as posters with QR codes to help inform the population on the latest. The aim is to use social media to provide community healthcare and offer basic health information to the population.
Currently at Campus Gandia (UPV) we continue to work on the design and implementation of the communication plan for the Health Centers in the town of Ontinyent.
