Dentsply Sirona, one of the most important companies in the dental sector, has once again chosen Campus Gandia of the Universitat Politècnica de València to celebrate DS Workflow Gandia ’23. This event, held in collaboration with the IVIO-UPV Chair on May 19th and 20th, presented the wide range of digital tools available in the field of dentistry to the professionals in attendance.
The digital workflow is a method of work used within digital dentistry to trace all the steps that the patient follows from the moment they enter a dental clinic until the end of their treatment. Therefore, the executed workflow enables treatments that are better scheduled, faster and less invasive thanks to the communication stream between the different disciplines.
Advances in the field of technology applied to dentistry have proven very relevant in recent years, resulting in the introduction of different types of techniques aimed at improving the efficiency of dental clinics. According to Joan Faus, director of IVIO and moderator of DS Workflow Gandia ’23, “the digitalization of the sector has become a necessity, since it offers multiple significant advantages for both the patient and the dentist, with shorter, safer and more painless treatments.” In this manner, participants were able to attend workshops, plenary sessions and specific training sessions that allowed them to discover the potential of technology to improve oral care, diagnosis and treatment.
Dentsply Sirona and the IVIO-UPV Chair, a successful collaboration
After the positive results of the DS Workflow Gandia ’22, Dentsply Sirona had no hesitation in repeating this rewarding partnership once again. “The shared values between Dentsply Sirona and the IVIO-UPV chair, based on the quality of the speakers, scientific rigour, together with the prestige of the UPV and the quality of the facilities, are just a few of the reasons that guaranteed the success of the event,” added sources from the company.
The success of the latest edition was even greater than the previous one. More than 250 people registered for the event, with more than 75% attendees. Sources from Dentsply Sirona say that these good results are pushing them to work harder to make the the next edition even better. With this, DS Workflow Gandia is fully established as one of the four major conferences of this type held in Spain and Portugal, becoming a leading dentistry event in the Valencian Community and neighboring regions.
The IVIO-UPV Chair reinforces its commitment to Gandia
The Dentsply Sirona Workflow Gandia ’23 is another clear example of the consolidation of the IVIO-UPV Chair as a leader in the promotion of new technologies applied to dentistry. Its contribution to promoting the campus as a meeting place for dentists from all over Spain not only benefits the UPV, but the entire city of Gandia. Its contribution to promoting the campus as a meeting place for dentists from all over Spain not only benefits the UPV, but the entire city of Gandia. It contributes to more conference tourism and greater deseasonalisation. In this way, it indirectly contributes to other sectors of the local and regional economy, such as the hospitality industry or the hotel sector. Likewise, the research work of the IVIO-UPV Chair and the IVIO is able to attract talent to the capital of La Safor, improving its position within the academic playing field.
