Campus Gandia research professor, Francisco Camarena, lets us in on what to expect from the program of science popularization activities that the IVIO-UPV Chair is set to carry out. Last month the IVIO-UPV Chair renewed its commitment to the promotion and development of scientific-technological knowledge in the field of dentistry.
What does the renewal of the IVIO-UPV Chair mean for the Campus Gandia?
What are the programmed activities in the field of knowledge transfer?
We’re preparing the third edition of the IVIO-UPV Chair Symposium, which had a fabulous turn-out in the early editions. We think that it is a standout activity for dental professional in which to share the advances and current techniques in oral implantology and periodontics, and also for researchers in the field of technology used in this medical specialty. We are also working on the II IVIO-UPV Chair Award for Best Bachelor or Master Thesis. The requirements are posted on the website and the call will remain open until October 15th.
In addition, this year we will hold a workshop with researchers from the UPV, the CSIC and the CEU related to the work currently being carried out in the dental field.
It is our understanding that this year the Chair is sponsoring Science Week at Campus Gandia and will also hold a science popularization workshop.
We will participate in this edition with a workshop that will leave no one indifferent. It’s a workshop on ultrasonic material inspection, where students can see how an ultrasound or sonar works, by means of a non-destructive test of materials that uses acoustic waves.
Finally, the Chair also promotes actions related to training and research
Indeed, it is one of the pillars of the Chair. This year we plan to have two research contracts and two collaboration grants for the Chair staff at Campus Gandia. We have also offered an internship contract in a company for students of Audiovisual Communication, where they will create digital content and communication.
