The Gandia Health Department, the Campus Gandia of the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia (UPV), therFederation of Business Associations of the Safor\u00a0(FAES, for its Spanish Initials) and the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (FISABIO, for its Spanish initials) have launched the “Safor Salut”<\/strong> campaign.<\/p>\n

The main goal is to bring together the healthcare, business and university sectors to discover their needs and generate innovation projects in healthcare<\/strong> at the county level<\/p>\n

For this purpose, Campus Gandia has hosted the presentation of “Safor Salut” by representatives of the three sectors: the president of FAES, Miguel Todol\u00ed<\/strong>; the head of FISABIO, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Manrique<\/strong>; the head of the Gandia health department, Joaqu\u00edn Mi\u00f1ana<\/strong>, and the director of Campus Gandia, Jes\u00fas Alba<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All four have stressed the need to “generate business opportunities and innovative solutions in the healthcare sector through collaborative methodologies.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Through this strategy, both the needs in the healthcare environment and ideas that can lead to new products and innovative services will be detected. \u2018”Safor Salut” will facilitate the transfer of knowledge between universities, healthcare facilities and productive fabric through joint collaborative projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The president of FAES indicated that, “This project will be what we decide on here, in the Safor, and we are ready for it.<\/strong> It is created in to establish methodologies in order to discover innovative proposals.”<\/p>\n

For his part, the head of FISABIO said, “We already have experience with Polisabio, which connects researchers from the UPV with health professionals<\/strong> and which is bearing very interesting results. The third part was missing: the productive sector.”<\/p>\n

The head of the Gandia health department stressed that more efficient and personalized technologies are necessary for health promotion; “The challenge is to get involved in knowledge management in order to confront demographic characteristics<\/strong>, such as the aging of the population.”<\/p>\n

Finally, the director of the Campus Gandia concluded that, “The research of the UPV applied to the healthcare field is already having a positive impact on the lives of people<\/strong>; the entities that are collaborating in this conference will work so that the population of the Safor can benefit from these opportunities.”<\/p>\n

Following that, four companies in the region presented their innovative projects related to the healthcare sector from different scopes: technology, food, textiles and hygiene.<\/p>\n

Maria Prada<\/strong> from FISABIO detailed what the steps are to follow in terms of the management of ideas<\/strong>, whether they arise from businesses, health professionals or researchers: recruitment, evaluation, development and transfer; as well as what the role is of the entity in terms of advice and coordination of initiatives and, above all, the fact of putting the three actors in contact.<\/p>\n

During the conference, successful experiences of collaboration between the Campus Gandia Campus with the healthcare environment, such as the study of acoustic, electromagnetic and light pollution in neonates; the treatment of the obstruction of the central artery of the retina by means of ultrasound, and the nanophonic sensors for the diagnosis of ocular diseases.<\/p>\n
