To encourage participation in the program, a conference will be held on <strong>April 20<\/strong> at the <strong>Gandia Hospital<\/strong>, to which researchers from the UPV and health personnel have been summoned.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Likewise, several <strong>information sessions<\/strong> will be held to explain the requirements of the call, how to participate and the functioning of the online platform for the program.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_person.Info?p_alias=jpelegri&amp;P_IDIOMA=i\"><strong>Jos\u00e9 Pelegr\u00ed<\/strong><\/a>, member of the executive team of the Gandia Campus, will participate in the Gandia hospital session. The calendar for the main sessions is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Gandia<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Friday, April 20, at 1:00 pm, in the Assembly Hall of the Francesc de Borja Hospital in Gandia<\/li>\n<li><strong>Valencia <\/strong>Tuesday, April 24, at 9:30 am, in the Fisabio Assembly Hall &#8211; Public Health Building in Valencia<\/li>\n<li><strong>Alcoy<\/strong>\u00a0 Friday, April 27, at 12:30 pm, in the Assembly Hall of the Virgen de los Lirios Hospital in Alcoy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7587\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-794x500.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"409\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Three <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polisabio.es\/index.php\/es\/jornadas#presentaci%C3%B3n\">UPV-FISABIO Cooperation Seminars<\/a> <\/strong>will be scheduled during the <strong>first half of Jun<\/strong>e in conjunction with the opening of the call for grants, where previously arranged bilateral meetings will be held between researchers and health professionals. <strong>The submission period for applications is from June 18 to July 9.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IMPROVING PEOPLE&#8217;S HEALTH AND QUALITY OF LIFE<\/p>\n<p>For<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_person.Info?p_alias=jesalba&amp;P_IDIOMA=i\">Jes\u00fas Alba<\/a>, <\/strong>director of the<strong> Campus Gandia,<\/strong> this joint endeavor will increase the direct impact of science on people&#8217;s health and quality of life, since the projects will be focused on the <strong>real needs of<\/strong> <strong>society<\/strong>.\u00a0 It will also<strong> stimulate new collaborations between both groups, the university and healthcare personnel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polisabio.es\/images\/polisabio\/inicio\/2018\/Resumen_del_programa_cas.pdf\">UPV-FISABIO Partnership Program<\/a><\/strong> was launched in 2017 with the aim of generating synergies and stimulating new collaborations between researchers from the UPV and the staff of the Valencian Community Health Departments affiliated with <a href=\"http:\/\/fisabio.san.gva.es\/en\/\">FISABIO<\/a>.\u00a0Initially the program was developed for the Alcoy and Gandia campuses, and the surrounding hospitals. <a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2018\/01\/polisabio-using-research-to-improve-healthcare\/\">Five projects on Campus Gandia were financed<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7588\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-upv.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-upv.jpg 967w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-upv-523x250.jpg 523w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-upv-768x367.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/polisabio-upv-150x72.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Program for 2018 has been extended to the Vera campus and the rest of the FISABIO centers in the province of Valencia, with the launch of the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.polisabio.es\/index.php\/es\/ayudas\"> II Joint Call for Grants 2018<\/a> <\/strong>that will award <strong>20 grants of \u20ac 3,000 each<\/strong> to finance <strong>Preparatory Actions<\/strong> to support the exploration and formulation of future RDI projects. A minimum of 4 grants are guaranteed to the Campus Gandia.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this call is to support and promote preparatory activities to carry out joint <strong>research\/innovation projects <\/strong>coordinated between staff members from both entities, as well as to strengthen <strong>collaboration between researchers from the UPV and the staff from centers affiliated with FISABIO<\/strong>, particularly from the Departments of Health of X\u00e0tiva-Ontinyent, Elda, Sant Joan d&#8217;Alacant, Marina Baixa, Gandia, Alcoi, Sagunt, Requena, Val\u00e8ncia-Arnau de Vilanova-Ll\u00edria, Val\u00e8ncia- Doctor Peset, as well as FISABIO &#8211; Public Health and FISABIO- Medical Ophthalmology.<\/p>\n<p>To encourage the generation of new projects and facilitate participation in the call, the POLISABIO online platform has been created to register the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polisabio.es\/index.php\/es\/expresiones-de-interes\"><strong>&#8220;expressions of interest<\/strong>&#8220;<\/a> (brief descriptions of the project idea) in order to identify health professionals interested in
