An action carried out under the umbrella of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2016\/03\/science-up-close-and-personal\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8216;Science, Up Close and Personal Project&#8217;.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>habitat modeling project in the Rufiji River (Tanzania)<\/strong>, where it meets the Kilombero River, is a technical support project being carried out by the researchers from Campus Gandia: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/soalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=K5MRNhA8C7jDkshIQE9b1%2BkB8HJRQi97DGiQRVK0xJD0i7lVQyCjFXaFOtRc0p0zfiQMnwObNRhW%2FP0lsgPW4aq72Ynsqt8c6%2BkeXu%2F2TY9HOxrGqgYpwg%3D%3D&amp;P_IDIOMA=i&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=normal\" target=\"_blank\">Francisco Martinez-Capel<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/soalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=K5MRNhA8C7jDkshIQE9b12lIlakTdpCZkMZ6mEfiaBn0i7lVQyCjFXaFOtRc0p0z20sXAHgpLohW%2FP0lsgPW4aq72Ynsqt8cO%2FA3ZSPX%2FALvxPZYaaFAcQ%3D%3D&amp;P_IDIOMA=i&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=normal\" target=\"_blank\">Rafael Mu\u00f1oz<\/a> and Carlos Puig.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/subtitles\/subtitles.html\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-d=\".\" data-v=\"1OVoSqSLgVU\" data-n=\"res\/sbvs\/UPVGANDIACIENCIA_Riu_Kilombero\" data-i=\".\/res\/imgs\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ligo.org\/\" target=\"_blank\"> <strong>LIGO<\/strong><\/a> Scientific Collaboration for the Observation of Gravitational Waves has reasons to celebrate. For the first time ever they have been able to <strong>detect gravitational waves<\/strong> through their two ultra precise laser interferometers located in the USA. <a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2015\/12\/campus-gandia-to-take-part-in-the-construction-of-the-worlds-largest-neutrino-telescope\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>The Antares neutrino telescope<\/strong>, with the participation<\/a> of the group directed by researcher <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=K5MRNhA8C7jDkshIQE9b15CByZmdn%2BoXZolpm1lzT2b0i7lVQyCjFXaFOtRc0p0zFGolqx5oQSlW%2FP0lsgPW4aq72Ynsqt8c6%2BkeXu%2F2TY%2B4GBhETfsATw%3D%3D&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=&amp;P_IDIOMA=i\" target=\"_blank\">Miguel Ardid<\/a><\/strong>, has been monitoring this phenomenon to look for the appearance of neutrinos coinciding with gravitational waves.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/subtitles\/subtitles.html\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420px\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-d=\".\" data-v=\"XRCva2Z290g\" data-n=\"res\/sbvs\/UPVGANDIACIENCIA_ones_gravitatories\" data-i=\".\/res\/imgs\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Researchers from the<strong> Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia<\/strong> have designed a new smart sensor system that helps <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2016\/02\/new-smart-system-detects-toxic-waste-in-the-sea\/\" target=\"_blank\">detect and delineate toxic waste, oil spills or hydrocarbons<\/a><\/strong> in any aquatic environment.<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/soalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=K5MRNhA8C7jDkshIQE9b1%2BTQsgV%2BM5%2FTPn8fskfJJKn0i7lVQyCjFXaFOtRc0p0zGhWGl%2FSmfmlW%2FP0lsgPW4aq72Ynsqt8cK55xwC6FWR10v7Ju0wsXIg%3D%3D&amp;P_IDIOMA=i&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=normal\"
