{"id":3349,"date":"2015-10-28T10:04:42","date_gmt":"2015-10-28T09:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/?p=3349"},"modified":"2016-02-17T08:42:22","modified_gmt":"2016-02-17T07:42:22","slug":"participation-of-campus-gandia-in-tecniacustica-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2015\/10\/participation-of-campus-gandia-in-tecniacustica-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Participation  of Campus Gandia in Tecniac\u00fastica 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>UPV Polytechnic City of Innovation<\/strong> hosted the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.congresotecniacustica.info\/enter.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Tecniac\u00fastica 2015\u00a0<\/a><\/strong> conference on October 21st to the 23rd, where over <strong>200 national and international experts<\/strong> presented their latest developments and debated the upcoming <strong>research challenges in the field of acoustics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the many topics debated, the latest developments in noise control and insulation in buildings were addressed; new materials and acoustic devices; room design; acoustic analysis of recreational areas; virtual acoustics; or the preservation of the musical heritage of Valencia. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The conference, which is <strong>one of the leading international forums in the field of architectural, archaeological and virtual reality acoustics<\/strong>, is organized by the Spanish Society of Acoustics in collaboration with the virtual acoustics research group formed by professors from the UPV (including several from Campus) and UV.<\/p>\n<p>FROM THE NOISE ON THE N332 TO THE ACOUSTIC ABSORBENCY OF SHEEP WOOL<\/p>\n<p>One of the papers presented by researchers from Campus of Gandia was a <strong>comparative study<\/strong> of <strong>the noise levels from the N332 highway as it passes through Oliva<\/strong>, a town besieged by road traffic noise. &#8220;According to results from this study, the traffic flow through Oliva has increased about 50% since 1999,&#8221; said one of the study&#8217;s authors, <strong>Jesus Alba<\/strong>. &#8220;The noise levels are essentially the same despite the opening of new ring roads.<strong> They are 10 dB above the maximum levels permitted by law in every time period<\/strong>,&#8221; said Alba.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3364\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3364\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jesus-alba-romina-del-rey.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3364\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jesus-alba-romina-del-rey.png\" alt=\"Jes\u00fas Alba \/ Romina del Rey\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jesus-alba-romina-del-rey.png 800w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-444x250.png 444w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-150x84.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3364\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jes\u00fas Alba \/ Romina del Rey<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The same team from the Campus presented the first results of the <a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2014\/12\/wool4build-project-creating-new-absorbent-materials-with-sheep-wool-scrap-material\/\" target=\"_blank\">WOOL4BUILD <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2014\/12\/wool4build-project-creating-new-absorbent-materials-with-sheep-wool-scrap-material\/\" target=\"_blank\">project<\/a>, which aims to create new absorbent materials with sheep wool scraps<\/p>\n<p>WIDE PARTICIPATION OF CAMPUS RESEARCHERS<\/p>\n<p>Campus researchers coordinated the following <a href=\"http:\/\/www.congresotecniacustica.info\/Fchrs\/sesiones_tecnicas.htm\" target=\"_blank\">structured sessions<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Marine Ecosystems Acoustics.<\/strong> Coordinators: <strong>Victor Espinosa<\/strong> and Michael Taroudakis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>ULT-0 Ultrasound<\/strong>. Mart\u00ednez-Mora<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/_Zl2C6Fthz0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition to everything highlighted above, it should be noted that the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/congresotecniacustica.info\/Fchrs\/Publicacion%20Oficial%20Congreso.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Scientific Committee of Tecniac\u00fastica 2015<\/a> <\/strong>was composed by <strong>Victor Espinosa and Victor Sanchez-Morcillo<\/strong>, both researchers from the Campus, among other experts in this field of study.<\/p>\n<p>The scientific collaboration between the Campus of Gandia and Tecniac\u00fastica has been steady in recent years; in fact, in 2006, t<a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/cronologia\/#7\" target=\"_blank\">he Campus hosted the conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, The <a title=\"Web Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Ac\u00fastica\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sea-acustica.es\/\" target=\"_blank\">Spanish Society of Acoustics<\/a>\u00a0has granted the <strong>Andr\u00e9s Lara Award\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sea-acustica.es\/index.php?id=76&amp;tx_ttnews%5btt_news%5d=803&amp;cHash=51208ccbae567e3085bc4722655ec797\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Xavier Banyuls<\/strong><\/a>, graduate student in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upv.es\/titulaciones\/MUIA\/indexi.html\" target=\"_blank\">Masters Degree Program in Acoustical Engineering<\/a>\u00a0at\u00a0Campus de Gandia.
