To achieve this goal, the Campus Gandia researchers <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/soalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=K5MRNhA8C7hoUrqp2gWSYDvMbqooThVPUBubsbkvu0%2F0i7lVQyCjFXaFOtRc0p0zOgYvVM1ntsYCFJjCrAFT0D1XXRvEL7%2BAGgAGiZYfIWUmQMtQAGMHkw%3D%3D&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=normal&amp;P_IDIOMA=i\" target=\"_blank\">Jes\u00fas Alba<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/soalu\/sic_per.info_persona?PE=Z7a6R0gGVjXJYB8%2BrYISNL%2FfXktWO%2FtMPQB4mGxLaMNF5qfM5p60C3aFOtRc0p0zchqYw%2B6LTfRQUadvi3%2F3yoABPddYK%2BfpMXFtJEBK7ffTlCaL11lMwg%3D%3D&amp;P_TIPOBUS=0&amp;P_VISTA=normal&amp;P_IDIOMA=i\" target=\"_blank\">Romina del Rey<\/a> and Vicente Sanchis<\/strong>\u00a0and have designed a new <strong>mobile curtain barrier<\/strong> that provides <strong>protection against electromagnetic light radiation and thermal, acoustic and protection against fire<\/strong>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Currently there are materials on the market with antipyretic, soundproof, fireproof and anti-electromagnetic properties, such as solid panels used to insulate walls and similar structures in construction. However, these panels do not permit quick and easy transportation, assembly and disassembly for temporary blocking of radiation.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, the product developed in the <strong>Campus Gandia<\/strong> is not a rigid structure, but rather a curtain that allows <strong>temporary blockage of radiation<\/strong>, and since it is mobile, <strong>it can be unfolded or folded when necessary without any major construction.<\/strong> In short, the key lies in the combination of materials, which are essential to achieving this protection, as well as its r<strong>educed weight that allows for easier transport, installation and dismantling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_3095\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3095\" style=\"width: 323px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3095 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/los-investigadores-jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-y-vicente-sanchis-333x500.jpg\" alt=\"Los investigadores Jes\u00fas Alba, Romina del Rey y Vicente Sanch\u00eds \" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/los-investigadores-jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-y-vicente-sanchis-333x500.jpg 333w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/los-investigadores-jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-y-vicente-sanchis-167x250.jpg 167w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/los-investigadores-jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-y-vicente-sanchis-100x150.jpg 100w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/los-investigadores-jesus-alba-romina-del-rey-y-vicente-sanchis.jpg 683w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-3095\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jes\u00fas Alba, Romina del Rey and Vicente Sanchis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The main end-industry where this invention can be applied is the <strong>textile industry<\/strong>, particularly the part of the industry dedicated to <strong>construction<\/strong>. Moreover, in the scientific field it allows you to convert any room into an <strong>electromagnetic anechoic chamber<\/strong> and in <strong>outdoor events<\/strong>, it reduces background noise and interference between events. And in <strong>transportation<\/strong> it can serve as a mobile separator, cell phone signal reducer, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Applications can also be found in the field of <strong>medicine<\/strong>, as it can provide a physical separation between hospital beds, reduce interference from different areas of the operating rooms. Similarly, it can also be applied in Neonatal Wards, ensuring the best acoustic and thermal conditions for babies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>TECHNICAL ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS FOR BUSINESSES <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the tests carried out in the Campus of Gandia laboratories, the curtain performs well against light and has <strong>high sound absorption capacity and high sound insulation levels.<\/strong> Electromagnetic testing offers evidence that insulating attributes equivalent to an electromagnetic chamber are obtained. With regard to<strong> thermal insulation<\/strong>, the materials chosen guarantee low thermal conductivity and high resistance to airflow, giving it tremendous heat insulation attributes. Finally, the reaction to fire is M1, which ensures that <strong>the material is nonflammable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STATE OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE TECHNOLOGY, PATENT AND PARTNERSHIPS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Polytechnic University of Valencia <strong>filed a patent<\/strong> in the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office on July 3, 2015, with reference number P201530961. The technology has been fully developed and is in the trial phase, testing its behaviour in situ and in the laboratory. Currently, the University is seeking licensing, manufacturing or marketing agreements with companies<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO PROTECT AND LICENSES RESEARCH RESULTS?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The protection of research results is, in many cases, a necessary condition for their financial profitability.
