He will attend the event with great pleasure, but with realistic expectations, because, according to Polo, &#8220;all the shorts are really good&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YWIQ2eMi4Ho?si=wzpQ1xNomk5f_SHs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Anti Paeudotherapies<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Shitty Therapy\u00a0<\/i>is a funny and scathing parody based on a true story: about two biology students who invented fecomagnetotherapy in 2012, which they assured that could cure diseases using fecal samples and magnets. The aim of the student inventors, Mariano Collantes and Fernando Cervera, was to show how easy and dangerous it is to normalize non-science based pseudotherapies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>A Great Run<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">One to be proud of. <em>Shitty Therapy<\/em> has garnered important awards and nominations in 2023, including a Premio Feroz, a Berlanga Award and a nomination to the Fugaz Awards. The short was published on the YouTube channel of the well-known creator Tamay, where it racked up 100,000 views in the first 24 hours. The film is available for streaming on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.filmin.es\/corto\/una-terapia-de-mierda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Filmin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fXDV_Mr3Yuc?si=7jZS24nbakNJmg4t\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Reaching the General Public<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Javier Polo got involved in this film project through the developer and screenwriter, Juanjo Moscard\u00f3, who he had already worked with on the documentary directed by Javier, <em>The Mystery of the Pink Flamingo<\/em>. Polo added more comedy to the short film, as well<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>as his distinctive raunchy style. &#8220;We wanted to appeal to a mainstream audience through humor, but without sacrificing rigor.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18533\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-333x500.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-333x500.png 333w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-167x250.png 167w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-768x1152.png 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-1024x1536.png 1024w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1-100x150.png 100w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Imagen-1.png 1333w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 333px) 100vw, 333px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>The Polo Brothers<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Javier and his brother Guillermo Polo, who also studied Audiovisual Communication at Campus Gandia UPV, are the founding partners of the production company Los Hermanos Polo, that produces advertising content as well as their own productions. &#8220;We work together, though one of us takes the lead in each project.&#8221; Now they are both finishing their first two fiction feature films.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Their Time at Campus Gandia<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Javier has very good memories of his years as a student at Campus Gandia UPV.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cI was there from 2005 to 2010 and my brother was there three years before me.
