{"id":17254,"date":"2023-03-21T16:56:38","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T15:56:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/?p=17254"},"modified":"2023-04-11T17:39:45","modified_gmt":"2023-04-11T15:39:45","slug":"technology-pill-custom-made-prosthesis-and-implants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/en\/2023\/03\/technology-pill-custom-made-prosthesis-and-implants\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology Pill: Custom-Made Prosthesis and Implants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/saforsalut.es\">Safor Salut<\/a>\u201d cooperation program, a joint initiative between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.upv.es\/contenidos\/CGANDIA\/index-en.html\">Campus Gandia of the Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.upv.es\/en\">UPV<\/a>), <a href=\"http:\/\/fisabio.san.gva.es\/en\/inicio\">FISABIO<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/gandia.san.gva.es\/portada\">Gandia Department of Health<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/fisabio.san.gva.es\/en\/inicio\">FISABIO<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/lapedrera.san.gva.es\/portada\">HACLE La Pedrera<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faesafor.com\/es\/\">Safor Federation of Business Associations (FAES)<\/a>, will hold a <strong>Technology Pill on custom-made prosthesis and implants<\/strong> on Wednesday, <strong>March 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m<\/strong>., in-person at Hospital U. Francesc de Borja (Gandia) and also online through <strong>webex<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>To attend and connect online to the conference, you need to register by filling out the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdXZMrS-UDkH0d6WOJHruFYh_wHmEhha595yURr7rbeoD1BqA\/viewform\">registration form<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-17238\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Banner-pildora-protesis-1440x471.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1440\" height=\"365\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The new additive manufacturing technologies are a genuine revolution in the prosthesis and implants industry, since they allow <strong>custom development for specific patients<\/strong>. This technique is already fully developed at the protocol, technology and software levels, and its use is expected to become widespread in the short to mid-term given the benefits it offers, both for the healthcare system itself, and for patients and health workers.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that the prosthesis or implant adapts to the person and not the person to the prosthesis, along with <strong>customized monitoring<\/strong>, amounts to a genuine revolution.
