The IVIO-UPV<\/a> Chair, the joint project between the UPV<\/a> and the Valencian Institute of Dental Research (IVIO)<\/a>, has convened the third edition of the Awards for the Best Final Degree or Master’s Degree Project<\/strong> (TFG and TFM, for their Spanish translations). The winner of the previous edition was Juan Carlos Bernab\u00e9u Mira for his study titled “In vitro study on the thermal behavior, pressure and physical-mechanical wear of the surgical burr during milling of the implant bed: material and design”.<\/p>\n

\"\"With this distinction, the Chair aims to recognize the best study on dental technology<\/strong>. The jury, formed by university professors and representatives of the IVIO, will take the innovative nature of the study into account, as well as the academic record of the participants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This year’s \u20ac1,000 cash prize will finance the participation of the winner in a convention, conference or symposium in the same field of study<\/strong>, and where the results of the TFG or TFM will be presented.<\/p>\n

In this edition, any students who has presented his or her TFG or TFM<\/strong> during the 2018-2019<\/strong> academic year<\/strong> in a Spanish university by September 30, 2019, is eligible to participate. The applications must include a summary with the objective, methodology, results and the most relevant conclusions of the research. The complete rules for the call<\/strong> can be found on the official website of the Chair<\/a>. The submission deadline for applications is October 15, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

AUDIOVISUAL COMMUNICATION AS A KEY TO SCIENTIFIC DISSEMINATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the missions of the IVIO-UPV Chair is scientific dissemination, which has become an indispensable task in order to convey the advances that may improve health-related quality of life of people. In order to carry out this work, Daniel Rold\u00e1n<\/strong>, student in the Master’s Degree in Digital Post Production<\/a><\/strong> at Campus Gand\u00eda of the UPV<\/a>, has done audiovisual documentation of the work carried out by the chair<\/strong> in all the research fields that it currently promotes.<\/p>\n

This has allowed the dissemination of the work of scientific teams focused on the application of different technologies to dentistry<\/strong>. His tremendous ability to create graphic representations has allowed him to transmit several leading lines of research in a didactic way, such as characterization for bone regeneration, monitoring of mandibular pressure in different patients or the use of augmented reality in applications related to dentistry.<\/p>\n
