Encara que puga semblar ci\u00e8ncia-ficci\u00f3, aquesta idea forma part d&#8217;un camp d&#8217;investigaci\u00f3 en plena expansi\u00f3 conegut com a mulsemedia o <strong>multim\u00e8dia multisensorial<\/strong>. Un recent treball de personal investigador del Campus de Gandia de la Universitat Polit\u00e8cnica de Val\u00e8ncia presenta, d&#8217;una banda, una proposta d&#8217;arquitectura per a la distribuci\u00f3 i consum de <strong>continguts audiovisuals enriquits amb efectes sensorials<\/strong> i, per un altre, un simulador que facilita el desenvolupament i la validaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquesta mena <strong>d&#8217;experi\u00e8ncies immersives<\/strong> sense disposar d&#8217;equipament real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Imagen-simulador-val-750x500.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26755\" style=\"width:820px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Imagen-simulador-val-750x500.webp 750w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Imagen-simulador-val-375x250.webp 375w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Imagen-simulador-val-768x512.webp 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/Imagen-simulador-val.webp 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El treball, que ha estat publicat en les revistes <em>Journal of Network and Computer Applications<\/em> (Ed. Elsevier), y <em>Multimedia Systems<\/em> (Ed. Springer), ha sigut realitzat per membres del grup d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 <em>Immersive Interactive Meda<\/em> (IIM) R&amp;D group del Campus de Gandia, el responsable del qual \u00e9s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_person.Info?p_alias=fboronat&amp;P_IDIOMA=v\">Fernando Boronat<\/a>, professor del campus. En el primer article es presenta la proposta d&#8217;arquitectura per a una plataforma basada en tecnologia web i equips de baix cost, que inclou un simulador tridimensional, presentat detalladament en el segon article, i permet recrear, avaluar o simular experi\u00e8ncies audiovisuals capaces d&#8217;estimular diversos sentits m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de la vista i l&#8217;o\u00efda. El treball realitzat constitueix <strong>un pas important per a dissenyar i validar experi\u00e8ncies multim\u00e8dia multisensorials.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>M\u00e9s enll\u00e0 de l\u2019\u00e0udio i el v\u00eddeo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tradicionalment, els sistemes multim\u00e8dia han estat limitats a la reproducci\u00f3 d&#8217;imatges i so. No obstant aix\u00f2, diversos estudis han demostrat que incorporar est\u00edmuls addicionals, com vibracions, efectes de vent, canvis de temperatura, il\u00b7luminaci\u00f3 especial o fins i tot aromes, pot augmentar significativament la sensaci\u00f3 d&#8217;immersi\u00f3 i la qualitat d&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia percebuda per les persones usu\u00e0ries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aquesta visi\u00f3 multisensorial resulta especialment interessant en \u00e0mbits tan diversos com l&#8217;entreteniment, l&#8217;educaci\u00f3, el turisme virtual, els videojocs o les aplicacions de realitat virtual i augmentada. L&#8217;objectiu \u00e9s que la persona que use aquest tipus de plataformes no sols observe una escena, sin\u00f3 que l&#8217;experimente d&#8217;una forma molt m\u00e9s completa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No obstant aix\u00f2, dissenyar i provar sistemes d&#8217;aquest tipus presenta importants dificultats. Per a realitzar experiments reals \u00e9s necessari disposar d&#8217;infraestructura dedicada i de nombrosos dispositius f\u00edsics distribu\u00efts al voltant de l&#8217;usuari: ventiladors, vibradors, generadors d&#8217;aromes, sistemes d&#8217;il\u00b7luminaci\u00f3 ambiental i altres equips especialitzats. Aquesta infraestructura implica costos elevats i limita la flexibilitat durant les fases de desenvolupament i investigaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"26749\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-3-scaled.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26749\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" data-id=\"26743\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-667x500.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26743\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-667x500.webp 667w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-333x250.webp 333w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-768x576.webp 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-1536x1152.webp 1536w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio-1-2048x1536.webp 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Un laboratori virtual per al multimedia multisensorial<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amb la finalitat de superar aquestes limitacions, l&#8217;equip del Campus de Gandia, a m\u00e9s d&#8217;implementar un prototip de plataforma demostrant la viabilitat de l&#8217;arquitectura proposada, tamb\u00e9 ha desenvolupat i ha incl\u00f2s, en aquesta plataforma, un simulador 3D compatible amb l&#8217;est\u00e0ndard internacional MPEG-V, una norma que permet descriure i incloure efectes sensorials en aplicacions multim\u00e8dia, facilitant la seua sincronitzaci\u00f3 amb el contingut audiovisual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Per tant, la nova plataforma <strong>integra tant el control real de dispositius capa\u00e7os de generar sensacions f\u00edsiques<\/strong> durant la reproducci\u00f3 de continguts audiovisuals com la seua simulaci\u00f3. D&#8217;una banda, permet reproduir contingut audiovisual mentre s&#8217;experimenten en temps real els diferents efectes sensorials associats a aquest contingut que existisquen en l&#8217;entorn f\u00edsic al voltant de l&#8217;usuari. D&#8217;aquesta manera, \u00e9s possible coordinar efectes com el vent, vibracions, il\u00b7luminaci\u00f3, canvis de temperatura, boira, polvoritzaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aigua o aromes sincronitzades amb el v\u00eddeo reprodu\u00eft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D&#8217;altra banda, el simulador va m\u00e9s enll\u00e0, inclou una interf\u00edcie gr\u00e0fica amb elements tridimensionals interactius i permet comprovar quan s&#8217;activen o desactiven aquests efectes i des de quina posici\u00f3 es generen al voltant de l&#8217;usuari sense necessitat de disposar d&#8217;un sistema real implementat. L&#8217;est\u00e0ndard MPEG-V contempla fins a 45 ubicacions diferents per a la col\u00b7locaci\u00f3 de dispositius sensorials, totes elles representades en el simulador virtual. La simulaci\u00f3 permet validar configuracions, detectar errors de sincronitzaci\u00f3 i estudiar el comportament de sistemes multisensorials abans de realitzar inversions en maquinari f\u00edsic. Admet fins a nou tipus diferents d&#8217;efectes sensorials procedents de qualsevol de les 45 posicions espacials definides per l&#8217;est\u00e0ndard, aix\u00ed com tamb\u00e9 inclou un m\u00f2dul per a gestionar dispositius comercials per a generar aquests efectes en un entorn real.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La soluci\u00f3 proposada es basa en tecnologies web i dispositius IoT de baix cost, la qual cosa facilita el seu desplegament en entorns dom\u00e8stics o experimentals sense necessitat d&#8217;equipament especialitzat. A m\u00e9s, mant\u00e9 la compatibilitat amb l&#8217;est\u00e0ndard internacional MPEG-V, garantint la interoperabilitat entre continguts, aplicacions i dispositius sensorials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Avaluaci\u00f3 amb usuaris reals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-375x500.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-26746\" style=\"width:461px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-375x500.webp 375w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-188x250.webp 188w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-768x1024.webp 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-1152x1536.webp 1152w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-1536x2048.webp 1536w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/foto-laboratorio2-scaled.webp 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La plataforma va ser avaluada per 40 persones usu\u00e0ries, que van confirmar una correcta sincronitzaci\u00f3 entre els efectes sensorials i el contingut audiovisual. Els resultats van mostrar que la incorporaci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquests est\u00edmuls addicionals augmenta la sensaci\u00f3 d&#8217;immersi\u00f3, realisme i gaudi, millorant significativament la qualitat d&#8217;experi\u00e8ncia percebuda. Aix\u00ed mateix, la interf\u00edcie gr\u00e0fica va obtenir una valoraci\u00f3 d&#8217;usabilitat qualificada com a excel\u00b7lent segons l&#8217;escala LES SEUES (System Usability Scale).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aquests avan\u00e7os consoliden al Campus de Gandia com un <strong>dels grups de refer\u00e8ncia en l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de la multim\u00e8dia multisensorial o mulsemedia<\/strong>. La combinaci\u00f3 d&#8217;eines de simulaci\u00f3, plataformes obertes i sistemes compatibles amb est\u00e0ndards internacionals contribueix a acostar tecnologies que podrien formar part de futures aplicacions d&#8217;entreteniment, formaci\u00f3, turisme virtual, realitat estesa i sistemes immersius de pr\u00f2xima generaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>M\u00e9s informaci\u00f3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boronat, F., S\u00e1ez, C., Sim\u00f3, L. &amp; Pastor, J.
