{"id":18589,"date":"2024-01-23T16:00:22","date_gmt":"2024-01-23T15:00:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/?p=18589"},"modified":"2024-01-22T12:44:23","modified_gmt":"2024-01-22T11:44:23","slug":"microplastics-mes-enlla-pellets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/ca\/2024\/01\/microplastics-mes-enlla-pellets\/","title":{"rendered":"Els micropl\u00e0stics, m\u00e9s enll\u00e0 dels p\u00e8l\u00b7lets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>L&#8217;accident mar\u00edtim ocorregut en les costes de Portugal i nord d&#8217;Espanya en els \u00faltims dies ha al\u00e7at totes les alarmes sobre el <strong>problema ambiental dels micropl\u00e0stics<\/strong>. Si b\u00e9 \u00e9s cert que la situaci\u00f3 \u00e9s alarmant i que mitigar els impactes ambientals derivats de l&#8217;abocament d&#8217;elevades quantitats de p\u00e8l\u00b7lets en la mar i en les costes ser\u00e0 complicat, la comunitat cient\u00edfica porta anys exposant la situaci\u00f3 real de la contaminaci\u00f3 ocasionada per pl\u00e0stics i els danys que aquesta crea en els ecosistemes fluvials, marins i costaners.<\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;actual situaci\u00f3 de <strong>la pres\u00e8ncia de micropl\u00e0stics en les costes gallegues \u00e9s la punta de l&#8217;iceberg<\/strong> d&#8217;un problema ambiental global i dels m\u00e9s importants als quals s&#8217;enfronta la comunitat cient\u00edfica juntament amb el canvi clim\u00e0tic.<\/p>\n<p>En els \u00faltims anys, la pres\u00e8ncia de residus pl\u00e0stics de diferents dimensions en mars i oceans, rius, barrancs, platges i costes ha anat en augment. La incorrecta gesti\u00f3 que realitzem de productes pl\u00e0stics quan ja no s\u00f3n \u00fatils per a nosaltres est\u00e0 degradant el paisatge i contaminant els ecosistemes. L\u2019any 2022 es van produir prop de\u00a0<strong>390,7 milions de tones de productes pl\u00e0stics en el m\u00f3n<\/strong>, de les quals tan sols 32,5 milions de tones procedien de pl\u00e0stics reciclats post-consum i 5,9 milions de tones eren pl\u00e0stics d&#8217;origen biol\u00f2gic (Plastic Europe, 2022). De tot aqueix pl\u00e0stic, solament<strong> reciclem prop del 9%,<\/strong>\u00a0la resta es deposita en abocadors o l&#8217;abandonem indiscriminadament en la naturalesa. Una vegada all\u00ed el pl\u00e0stic es deteriora i es fragmenta per l&#8217;acci\u00f3 erosiva dels agents ambientals: corrents marins, la radiaci\u00f3 ultraviolada, la salinitat, entre altres. Els pl\u00e0stics van reduint la seua grand\u00e0ria transformant-se en micropl\u00e0stics (part\u00edcules de menys de 5mm).<\/p>\n<p>Estem molt allunyats del canvi cap a l&#8217;economia <strong>circular<\/strong> que seria una de les l\u00ednies d&#8217;actuaci\u00f3 a seguir per a mitigar el problema. En canvi, continuem consumint gran quantitat de productes pl\u00e0stics, els quals requereixen dels p\u00e8l\u00b7lets per a la seua fabricaci\u00f3 i procedeixen directament de la s\u00edntesi de derivats dels combustibles f\u00f2ssils, sent un m\u00ednim percentatge (<strong>8,31%) pl\u00e0stic creat a partir de residus pl\u00e0stics reciclatge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Segons dades de WWF,\u00a0<strong>Espanya est\u00e0 abocant al dia m\u00e9s de 126 tones de pl\u00e0stics al Mediterrani <\/strong>\u00a0. La nostra mar s&#8217;est\u00e0 convertint en un dels m\u00e9s contaminats del planeta amb nivells de pl\u00e0stics semblants als de les grans illes de pl\u00e0stic localitzades en l&#8217;Oce\u00e0 Pac\u00edfic, Oce\u00e0 Atl\u00e0ntic o l&#8217;\u00cdndic. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s degut a les seues costes densament poblades, amb intenses rutes de transport mar\u00edtim recreatiu i mercant, amb un elevat aprofitament de recursos pesquers, convertint-se en paraules de WWF, en el\u00a0<strong>gran parany de pl\u00e0stic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>La pregunta m\u00e9s comuna \u00e9s pensar <strong>com arriba tot aquest pl\u00e0stic a la mar<\/strong>, s&#8217;estima que el 80% es genera en el medi terrestre, procedent de l&#8217;abocament d&#8217;aig\u00fces residuals sense tractar o sotmeses a tractaments poc \u00f2ptims a barrancs i rius; de l&#8217;aband\u00f3 de residus en abocadors incontrolats; la incorrecta separaci\u00f3 i gesti\u00f3 dels residus als pobles i ciutats; l&#8217;\u00fas del v\u00e0ter com si fora una paperera on s&#8217;aboquen diferents productes d&#8217;higiene personal, etc. Aquestes aig\u00fces residuals, si no se sotmeten a correctes processos de depuraci\u00f3 les part\u00edcules en suspensi\u00f3 presents en elles acaben arribant a la mar a trav\u00e9s dels emissaris submarins o a trav\u00e9s de rius i barrancs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18578\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-750x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-375x250.jpg 375w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/water-nature-plastic-pond-environment-dirt-773268-pxhere.com_-150x100.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A aquest fet cal afegir el transport de part\u00edcules durant els fen\u00f2mens torrencials conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;arrossegament de gran quantitat d&#8217;estris i residus a causa de l&#8217;escolament, els quals en desembocar en la mar provoca una elevada entrada de fragments pl\u00e0stics en aquest.<\/p>\n<p>El restant 20% procedeix de la pr\u00f2pia activitat n\u00e0utica i pesquera, \u00e9s a dir, residus que s&#8217;alliberen directament en la mar de manera intencionada o accidental. El buidatge dels tancs d&#8217;aig\u00fces residuals dels vaixells, l&#8217;abocament directe des d&#8217;embarcacions, aband\u00f3 d&#8217;arts de pesca, accidents de navilis de transport com ha ocorregut a Gal\u00edcia amb els p\u00e8l\u00b7lets, s\u00f3n exemples de fonts d&#8217;entrada de fem pl\u00e0stic en el medi mar\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-18581\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-693x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"693\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-693x500.jpg 693w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-346x250.jpg 346w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-768x554.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-1536x1108.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-2048x1478.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/night-plastic-evening-reflection-red-vehicle-172303-pxhere.com_-150x108.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 693px) 100vw, 693px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Una vegada all\u00ed, <strong>es distribuir\u00e0 en tots els compartiments ambientals de l&#8217;ecosistema<\/strong> en funci\u00f3 del seu pes i grand\u00e0ria: en la superf\u00edcie de l&#8217;aigua, en la columna d&#8217;aigua, depositant-se en el sediment mar\u00ed o en les costes. Els corrents marins arrossegaran aquestes part\u00edcules pels oceans i mars en estar tots ells interconnectats entre si, ocasionant que hi haja pres\u00e8ncia de residus pl\u00e0stics en llocs remots del planeta on no hi ha pres\u00e8ncia d&#8217;assentaments humans, com \u00e9s el cas del gel \u00e0rtic i ant\u00e0rtic. Aquest mecanisme de distribuci\u00f3 oce\u00e0nica provoca tamb\u00e9 l&#8217;acumulaci\u00f3 en el centre dels girs oce\u00e0nics del planeta formant el que es coneix com a \u201cilles de pl\u00e0stics\u201d, sent la de major grand\u00e0ria i densitat de part\u00edcules la localitzada en l&#8217;oce\u00e0 Pac\u00edfic nord.<\/p>\n<p>Com m\u00e9s xicotet siga la grand\u00e0ria del pl\u00e0stic m\u00e9s nombre d&#8217;organismes poden interaccionar amb ell, provocant que la base de la cadena tr\u00f2fica marina, concretament el zooplancton de grand\u00e0ria microsc\u00f2pica, fins als m\u00e9s grans com a balenes, tortugues, taurons, orques estan interaccionat amb aquests residus antr\u00f2pics. Alguns confonen els residus amb el seu propi menjar i els ingereixen, acumulant-se en el seu sistema digestiu i morint per intoxicaci\u00f3 o per inanici\u00f3. Uns altres queden atrapats entre ells i moren d&#8217;esgotament o per escanyaments.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Al final d&#8217;aquesta cadena tr\u00f2fica ens trobem nosaltres<\/strong> que ens alimentem de recursos pesquers que poden contenir en el seu sistema digestiu aquests micro residus, moltes vegades, dif\u00edcils de veure a simple vista, poden acabar ingerint-ho en la dieta, transformant-se en un problema de salut p\u00fablica del qual desconeixem encara les seues repercussions.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-18589-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886990416_1704886989_audio_128.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886990416_1704886989_audio_128.mp3\">https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886990416_1704886989_audio_128.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>A m\u00e9s, alguns estudis ja estan identificant els <strong>micropl\u00e0stics com a vectors transmissors de malalties<\/strong> en adherir-se a la seua estructura microorganismes pat\u00f2gens presents en les aig\u00fces, o tamb\u00e9 problemes de bioacumulaci\u00f3 de contaminants qu\u00edmics com metalls pesants, en adherir-se a la superf\u00edcie d&#8217;aquestes part\u00edcules.<\/p>\n<p>Encara que les imatges de les costes gallegues s\u00f3n molt alarmants, <strong>les costes valencianes tamb\u00e9 pateixen l&#8217;impacte de deposicions de micropl\u00e0stics<\/strong> sobretot durant els temporals de llevant, pel fet que existeixen en la mar mediterr\u00e0nia elevades densitats de micropl\u00e0stics en l&#8217;actualitat.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_18564\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18564\" style=\"width: 657px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-18564 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1-667x500.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"667\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1-667x500.jpg 667w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1-333x250.jpg 333w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1-150x113.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/residuos-1024x768-1.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 667px) 100vw, 667px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-18564\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Font: N. Residuos depositados por el mar en la costa tras el temporal Gloria (2020).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/ca\/2019\/09\/una-investigacio-pionera-de-la-upv-apunta-a-un-elevat-nivell-de-microplastics-en-el-sud-del-golf-de-valencia\/\">Con\u00e8ixer la situaci\u00f3 concreta del Golf de Val\u00e8ncia en relaci\u00f3 amb la contaminaci\u00f3 per micropl\u00e0stics<\/a> ha sigut un dels objectius del Campus de Gandia (UPV), iniciant-se l&#8217;estudi l&#8217;any 2018. N\u00faria Felis, sota la direcci\u00f3 dels professors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_person.Info?p_alias=sfalcog&amp;P_IDIOMA=v\">Silvia Falco<\/a> i <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upv.es\/pls\/oalu\/sic_person.Info?p_alias=mrodilla&amp;P_IDIOMA=v\">Miguel Rodilla<\/a> van realitzar la primera investigaci\u00f3 sobre la densitat de micropl\u00e0stics en la zona sud del Golf de Val\u00e8ncia en el seu treball final de m\u00e0ster en Avaluaci\u00f3 i Seguiment Ambiental d&#8217;Ecosistemes Marins i Costaners.<\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-18589-2\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886665146_1704886662_audio_128.mp3?_=2\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886665146_1704886662_audio_128.mp3\">https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/1704886665146_1704886662_audio_128.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p>Aquest primer estudi ja va constatar que <strong>els punts amb majors densitats<\/strong> coincideixen amb les \u00e0rees d&#8217;influ\u00e8ncia de les desembocadures fluvials de la zona, el riu X\u00faquer i riu Serpis, canals d&#8217;entrada de gran quantitat de residus d&#8217;origen terrestre. Mentre que les menors densitats es troben en les zones m\u00e9s allunyades de la influ\u00e8ncia d&#8217;aquests escolaments superficials i amb menor aflu\u00e8ncia tur\u00edstica en les seues costes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eliminar els residus de la superf\u00edcie o del fons de mars i oceans<\/strong> \u00e9s una tasca t\u00e8cnicament complexa, en alguns llocs com les fosses oce\u00e0niques, \u00e9s pr\u00e0cticament impossible a m\u00e9s de ser molt costosa econ\u00f2micament.\u00a0 Si ens plantegem qu\u00e8 podem fer, cal pensar en l&#8217;actitud que tenim en el nostre dia a dia respecte al consum de productes pl\u00e0stics i la gesti\u00f3 dels residus que produ\u00efm a casa, en el treball, en el col\u00b7legi, en el lloc de vacances.<\/p>\n<p>Hem de passar d&#8217;una\u00a0<strong>economia lineal: produeixen-consumim-tirem<\/strong>, a una economia circular on a tot el que consumim li hem de buscar una segona vida i si no la t\u00e9, separar-lo per a reciclar-lo i que torne a transformar-se en mat\u00e8ria primera per a un altre producte.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>M\u00e9s informaci\u00f3:<\/p>\n<p>Felis Reig, N.
