{"id":16298,"date":"2022-07-19T19:19:08","date_gmt":"2022-07-19T17:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/?p=16298"},"modified":"2022-07-20T09:10:43","modified_gmt":"2022-07-20T07:10:43","slug":"el-soroll-que-et-protegeix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/ca\/2022\/07\/el-soroll-que-et-protegeix\/","title":{"rendered":"El soroll que et protegeix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fa uns pocs anys vaig tenir la fortuna de tenir com a alumne a Ferran Mochol\u00ed Belenguer en el m\u00e0ster d&#8217;enginyeria Ac\u00fastica que impartim al campus de Gandia, un dels alumnes amb major entusiasme que mai he tingut. Un dia, en acabar la classe i dirigint-nos ja al p\u00e0rquing, em va proposar que li dirigira el treball Fi de m\u00e0ster (TFM). Llavors ell compaginava els estudis de m\u00e0ster amb el seu treball com a investigador en formaci\u00f3 en l&#8217;institut ITACA, i desitjava trobar per al TFM un nexe entre la seua l\u00ednia d&#8217;investigaci\u00f3, centrada en <strong>sistemes de transport intel\u00b7ligent, i l&#8217;ac\u00fastica<\/strong>. Em va contar que el fet que els vehicles el\u00e8ctrics foren silenciosos estava causant una nova tipologia d&#8217;accidents. Si b\u00e9 aix\u00f2 redu\u00efa la contaminaci\u00f3 ac\u00fastica del tr\u00e0nsit, s&#8217;estava propiciant un increment en els atropellaments a vianants, ja que aquests no percebien els vehicles el\u00e8ctrics en circulaci\u00f3. Tamb\u00e9 em va comentar que hi havia poca investigaci\u00f3 sobre el tema i que li agradaria fer \u201calguna cosa\u201d. Recorde que mentre parl\u00e0vem de tot aix\u00f2, s&#8217;acostava a nosaltres un cotxe el\u00e8ctric maniobrant marxa arrere. No ens vam adonar fins a tenir-lo pr\u00e0cticament damunt. Immediatament intercanviem uns somriures. Sens dubte, all\u00f2 corroborava la idone\u00eftat d&#8217;aquesta l\u00ednia de treball.<\/p>\n<p>Per a combatre aquest problema, la UE ja havia aprovat una regulaci\u00f3 (si b\u00e9 encara no havia entrat en vigor) per la qual <strong>tots els cotxes el\u00e8ctrics havien d&#8217;emetre un so o soroll artificial<\/strong>, amb la finalitat d&#8217;alertar de la seua pres\u00e8ncia als vianants. \u00d2bviament, en aquests casos preval la seguretat, per\u00f2 a ning\u00fa se li pot escapar que es desaprofitarien en gran part els beneficis de la reducci\u00f3 en la contaminaci\u00f3 ac\u00fastica, i fins i tot es podria arribar a situacions absurdes amb l&#8217;acumulaci\u00f3 de vehicles el\u00e8ctrics.<\/p>\n<p>En aquest context, vol\u00edem respondre a una s\u00e8rie de preguntes que permeteren acostar-nos a cercar el dif\u00edcil equilibri d&#8217;alertar prou per\u00f2 contaminant el m\u00ednim possible. Juntament amb els \u00a0investigadors del seu equip, Antonio Mochol\u00ed Salcedo i Antonio Mart\u00ednez Millana, va tirar d&#8217;enginy per a dissenyar l&#8217;experiment, desenvolupar un dispositiu adequat i elaborar uns <strong>tests de percepci\u00f3 psicoac\u00fastica<\/strong>. Va provar amb sons amb diferents caracter\u00edstiques (to intermitent, motor de combusti\u00f3 i motor sintetitzat), perqu\u00e8 no tots els sons es perceben per igual, ni resulten igual de plaents o molestos. A m\u00e9s, va fer proves en diferents ambients urbans i emetent el so d&#8217;alerta a diferents nivells.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16279\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/imagen-arti\u0301culo-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"408\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-16282\" src=\"https:\/\/cienciagandia.webs.upv.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/imagen-arti\u0301culo-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"243\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Els resultats van ser bastant clarificadors: en primer lloc, <strong>els sons d&#8217;alerta que millor es perceben s\u00f3n precisament els m\u00e9s molestos<\/strong>. \u00c9s el cas del to intermitent. Aix\u00f2 significa que per a alertar amb un so m\u00e9s agradable (motor sintetitzat) fan falta m\u00e9s decibels. En segon lloc, en ambients tranquils es pot reduir molt\u00edssim el nivell del so d&#8217;alerta mantenint l&#8217;efic\u00e0cia de la seua comesa. Aix\u00f2 \u00e9s especialment rellevant, ja que es podria ajustar din\u00e0micament el nivell del so em\u00e8s al m\u00ednim necessari en cada escenari. En tercer lloc, i potser el m\u00e9s sorprenent i rellevant, \u00e9s que vam poder comprovar que els nivells establerts per la uni\u00f3 Europea (entre 55dB i 76dB) s\u00f3n excessivament elevats, especialment en entorns tranquils (veure figura). Aix\u00f2 significa que es contamina de m\u00e9s gratu\u00eftament, per la qual cosa convindria una revisi\u00f3 de les regulacions.<\/p>\n<p>Despr\u00e9s de la defensa del seu TFM, li vaig comentar a Ferran que aix\u00f2 no ho podia deixar ac\u00ed. No es va acovardir, i uns mesos m\u00e9s tard ja tenia en el meu correu un esborrany d&#8217;article cient\u00edfic. Finalment va ser publicat en el n\u00famero del passat mes d&#8217;abril de la revista IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, una de les revistes m\u00e9s importants en el seu camp.
