Artificial Intelligence in Safor Salut’s First Technology Pill Session

The “Safor Salut” program, a joint initiative between the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Valencian Community (FISABIO, for its Spanish initials), Campus Gandia of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV), and the Federation of Business Associations de la Safor (FAES, for its Spanish initials), is preparing its first Technology Pill with an online session dedicated to Artificial Intelligence applied to the healthcare field. This event will take place on Thursday, October 1st, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., via the Zoom platform.

Artificial Intelligence is undoubtedly one of the technologies that will cause the greatest impact in its application to the health field, leading to a transformation in the medical-healthcare setting and hospital management. This disruptive innovation is rapidly evolving, creating new opportunities that require research for the development of technological solutions that promote their implementation in the healthcare industry. We can either take part in its development or let others do the research.

With the aim of providing information to encourage the proposal of collaborative research and innovation projects between the three agents, this first pill is aimed at the staff of the Gandia Health Department and La Pedrera Hospital in Denia, with a focus on exploring improvements in patient care and the overall health of the population based on this technology; the research staff at Campus Gandia (UPV); and businesses in the Safor with capacities to help and ideas or challenges applied to this industry and AI; as well as anyone who, in general, is interested in learning about the implications of this technological innovation in the healthcare field.

During the session, the basic concepts of Artificial Intelligence will be discussed in their broadest sense (including machine learning, big data, etc.); the potential fields of application in the medical-hospital setting of the Gandia Health Department will be identified and the restrictions of its application to medical data will be analyzed; and examples of real application projects in the medical field will be provided to inspire new project proposals.

ONE MORE STEP TOWARDS CO-CREATION

The action plan of the “Safor Salut” project includes more Technology Pills focused on generating new ideas or challenges and the detecting unmet needs and opportunities based on cutting-edge technologies with great potential for impact in the healthcare field, in addition to creating synergies between innovation agents and participants in the session.

After prioritizing the ideas and challenges put forth, the next step in the program is the development of the different proposals in co-creation workshops in order to encourage collaborative projects that give rise to innovative products and services based on healthcare needs aligned with the strategy of the AVI and RIS3 challenges.

NEW IDEAS AND CHALLENGES

If you have an idea for a project or a solution related to the healthcare field and you need a partner from the healthcare, university or business environment to carry it out, please fill out and send the following form to the Safor Salut team by email and we will help you find the partners
